6 years

My dreads are officially 6 years old and getting long as heck! I probably won’t be updating this site anymore since they aren’t going to change much. Now that they’ve reached my butt I’ll probably be cutting them to keep them that length. I don’t want my hair any longer than that.

I’m still washing with Lush about every 4 days. I usually only wash my scalp, but I’ll wash top to bottom if I feel they need it. It’s not like I roll in the mud or anything, but occasionally they land in my food. I did my first maintenance this year. I’ve been all for natural dreadlocks until I realized the long hairs around my face and back of my neck were never going to dread up and add more frizz than I’d like. So every few months I take bits of hair and crochet them into my dread roots.

That is all! Let me know if you have any questions about your own dread journey, don’t forget to check out my back and front timelines, and say no to wax! Feel free to follow me on Instagram!
